Reading Buddies

Your child is invited to the Bunbury Public Library to spend time reading to a trained Therapy Dog.

Do you have a school aged child who would benefit from reading to a trained therapy dog?

Therapy dogs provide a non-judgmental environment where children can relax and focus while reading. This can in turn help your child to increase their literacy skills, confidence, and joy of reading.

These sessions run fortnightly during school term. Each session will last around 20 minutes where parents and their child can enjoy a one on one reading session in a quiet cosy area of the Bunbury Public Library. Participants will have exclusive time with the therapy dog and it's owner, with no interruptions from the public.

Kids can bring their own book, or they can choose something from the library's collection.
